No Labels has emerged as a significant entity in the 2024 presidential election. Given their level of commitment, organization, and funding, expect them to be a major player in the coming election cycle.
I urge every Arizona Independent to log onto their website; study the contents and individually reach your own conclusions.
Background:
The group was founded in 2009. It is an American political organization that supports centrism and bipartisanship. The opening statement of their website reads, “We are a national movement of commonsense Americans pushing our leaders together to solve our country’s biggest problems.”
No Labels made a notable impact in Congress by creating the bipartisan House Problem Solvers Caucus and connecting them with an allied Senate group through regular bicameral meetings.
Present:
No Labels is working to shape the debate around the 2024 presidential election. They are developing a Commonsense Policy Agenda and have launched the 2024 Presidential Insurance Policy Agenda. No Labels seeks to gain ballot access in all fifty states and DC. Polling indicates that a strong majority of Americans do not want a rematch featuring Trump and Biden.
The referenced “insurance policy” is a definite maybe. No Labels explains that they do not want to be a spoiler; they will only support a candidate if they believe they have a strong possibility of winning. No Labels will make a final decision about a third-party run after the March primaries. They claim to have a $70 million dollar budget for this work.
No Labels may be a dream come true for Independents. Nationally polls show Independent Voter registrations between 40 and 49 percent, while Republicans and Democrats poll at approximately 25 percent each.
I urge every Independent to track the progress and decisions of No Labels. They have attracted the attention of both parties and the attacks from the right and left have begun.
