Proposition 133 (HCR2033) Makes Arizona Elections Less Fair

·

,

House Concurrent Resolution 2032 would unravel years of election system improvements in Arizona, mainly out of fear by Republican Legislators that they will lose “control” if current laws remain. This extreme cynicism cannot be allowed to erode the hard work by election officials over the years to make voting simpler and easier for their clients: Arizona’s more than four million voters! Arizonans have proved at the ballot box how much they like these improvements. Going backwards is NOT acceptable.

The main provisions voters need to block by VOTING NO on HCR 2032 include:

  • Election precincts may not contain more than 1,000 registered voters.
  • Boards of Supervisors may not authorize the use of voting centers in place of or in addition to specifically designated polling places.
  • Early voting sites, voting centers, or other voting centers are not allowed.
  • Rules related to such centers are rescinded.
  • There must be at least three election workers at each polling place.
